Getting ready for school

We are in a whirl of activity here at the shop this week as we get ready for our Appliqué School this coming Saturday.
We are all looking forward to the day, it is going to be so much fun for everyone, but before the fun of the day, we are having a great time in the shop gathering supplies and putting together all the kits needed for the teachers, and the wonderful goody bags that each of our "school kids" will receive on the day...the goody bags are very good indeed, full of some lovely little treats to make school lessons a breeze. We have really enjoyed putting all the supplies together and as always Sammy has been on hand to help out, he has even had a hair cut for the first day of school.

We have now sold all our copies of Di Ford's book, "Primarily Quilts", and are awaiting the next delivery due in 4 to 6 weeks.  We have another waiting list for copies of Di's book that is quickly gathering names ~ so if would like to reserve a copy from our next delivery just email us or call us at the shop.

We have been so frantic posting out all the pre ordered copies of Di's book and organizing all the bits and bobs for appliqué school that the arrival of some new fabric almost passed us by.....but wow, look at this amazing toile....

It comes to us as part of a great new Moda range, Lario by 3 Sisters.  We received eight fabrics from the range including a good quality wide width backing, this beautiful toile, plus two paisleys, several pink florals and a couple of small print blenders.
This week we also received Haversack by Audrey Wright, 8 prints in taupes, deep creams and intense navy with two really good border prints.

Next week we will have lots and lots of photos to show you from appliqué school so everyone gets a glimpse of a fun day and a good old sticky beak at some school work.

  2. The Applique school was fantastic. Four great teachers, very helpful and friendly. Learned lots and improved on some of my techniques. Good food and friendly people is what patchwork is all about! Got a few new bits and pieces too, as you do. Had a friend from Tassie with me as well as two friends from Hoppers Crossing. Thank you Petra for driving. Everyone enjoyed the classes. Whats on for next time?
